Gordon F. Girard

Gordon F. Girard, age 85 of Prescott, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the Iosco County Medical Care Facility. Gordon had been a resident of Prescott since 1965, formerly of Detroit. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Moose Lodge both of Prescott and St. Stephens Catholic Church. Gordon was a real estate broker and builder at Lake Ogemaw for many years and was the former owner of Edgewood Golf Course in Prescott. He collected trains and coins. Gordon is survived by his wife Mary of Prescott, children Marlene (John) Belleau of Prescott, John (Cheryl) Girard of Sterling Heights and James Girard of Prescott, grandchildren, Matthew (Julie) Kruschinska of Eastpointe, Mary (Danny) Sanchez of Chicago IL, William (Jen) Baldwin of Elgin, IL, Jeff Girard of Los Angeles, CA and Christopher (LeeAnn) Girard of Sterling Heights and great-grandchildren, Olivia, Ava and Ruby Sanchez, Cody and Lindsay Girard and Jack and Amelia Baldwin. Also surviving is his sister Donna Curtis of Clinton Township and his brother Grayson (Sharon) Girard of Grosse Point Woods. He was preceded in death by his daughters Elaine Girard and Karen Burns and his brothers, Glen Girard, Pete Girard and Jack Girard. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Friday, October 14, 2011 from 3-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Iosco County Medical Care Facility or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
