Gloria Jean Peterson

Gloria Jean Peterson, 77, of West Branch, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center – West Branch, surrounded by her loving family.

Gloria was born on January 12, 1948, in Long Lake, Michigan, to Frank and Leona (Thayer) Marr. On June 18, 1966, she married the love of her life, Eldin Peterson, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family.

Throughout her lifetime, Gloria held various jobs, including working at TollFree Memorial Hospital. However, her greatest joy came from the time spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She cherished family gatherings and enjoyed playing bingo, visiting the casino, playing marbles, shopping, and having lunch with her sister.

Gloria is survived by her devoted husband, Eldin Peterson; her children, Frank Peterson (Dawn), Tricia Awrey (Brian), and Kimberly Peterson (Greg); and her beloved grandchildren: Amanda Peterson, Matthew Peterson (Jacie), Hunter Awrey (Anndra), Heath Awrey (Toni), and Jordan Peterson (Kayli). She was also a proud great-grandmother to Roman, Bryson, Laeten, Liam, Brantley, Aaven, Bella, Quinn, Nixen, Oliver, Bennett, Grayson, Brynnley, MaKenzie, and Alexis.

She is also survived by her loving sister, Gerri Willing; sister-in-law, Beatrice Oliver (Ron); and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Gloria is reunited in heaven with her beloved son, Greg Peterson; her parents, Frank and Leona Marr; her sister, Judy Baldwin; her brother, Alan Marr; her sister-in-law, Mary Bee (Richard); and her in-laws, Floyd and Doris Peterson.

Gloria’s warmth, love, and kindness touched everyone who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held at Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church in West Branch, MI on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Pastor David Kurtz will officiate.
