Gloria Breining

Gloria (Cookie Grandma) Breining, 90, of West Branch passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013. Born October 2, 1923 to Edward and Doris (McBain) Whalton in Detroit, Michigan, she has lived in West Branch since 1963. Gloria was a chef and baker. Gloria is survived by her children: daughters, Judy Kline and Sherri Thomas both of West Branch; Patty (Chuck) Gibbs of Brooklyn, MI; sons: Michael Breining and Terry (Joy) Breining all of West Branch, MI. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Oscar; sons: James Watson and Doug Beeman; three sisters: Phyllis Brown, Gene Lennox and Wanda Evans; and brother, Robert Whalton. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. immediately followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Chaplin Jim Pennington will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to the family.
