Geraldine L. Rich

Geraldine L. Rich, age 88, of West Branch, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at her home. She was born in Hadley, Michigan to Roy and Donna Ivory in 1919. She married Paul Rich and they lived in Lapeer for many years. She worked at the Lapeer County General Hospital as a housekeeping manager for 26 years. After retiring, they sold their farm and moved to Harrison, Michigan, where they lived for 12 years. When Paul passed away, she moved to West Branch, where she lived for 18 years. Geraldine served on the cancer board for 21 years in Lapeer and Harrison. She also enjoyed reading and knitting. She leaves three children, Charles (Evelyn) Rich of Kentucky, William (Cindy) Rich of Sand Lake, and Louanne (Fred) Rosebrugh of West Branch, 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 31, 2007 at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Daniel Stoneback will officiate. Burial will take place on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Stiles Cemetery, Lapeer. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Helping Hands.
