Geraldine H. Gurzenda

Geraldine H. Gurzenda, age 87, of St. Helen passed away Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. Geraldine had lived in St. Helen most of her life. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary #5680 of St. Helen. She volunteered for the local Democratic Party and loved bowling. Geraldine is survived by son, Richard (Lisa) Gurzenda of St. Helen, daughters, Barbara (Bob) Wilber of Hawks, MI, Mary Lou (Dennis) Reed of Troy, MO, 12 grandchildren, Susan, Donald, Tracy, Denni Ann, Brian, Alexis, Luke, Gary, Kelly, Tricia, Daniel, Robbie, and 21 great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Ileane Ratti of Placentia, CA, Betty Comerzan of Brownstown, MI and brother, William Trombly of Arizona. She was preceded in death by husband, Ted in 2005, daughter, Bonnie, son, Robert, granddaughter, Jackie, and brothers, “Sonny” and Donald. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin Thursday, January 15, 2009 from 2-8 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Helen Catholic Church Friday, January 16, 2009 at 11:00 AM with visitation prior from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, St. Helen.
