Gerald T. Shereda

Gerald T. Shereda of St. Helen, formerly of Clinton Twp. passed away on December 29, 2009 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. He was born in Detroit on October 5, 1936 to Joseph and Lilly Shereda. He married Gloria Jedrzejewski on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 1956 at St. Florian Church in Hamtramck. Gerald is survived by wife, Gloria of St. Helen, three daughters, Constance (Steven) Jones of Ft. Gratiot, MI, Susan (Ronald) Fleury of Warren, MI, Sandra (Kevin) Potter-Polachowski of Sterling Hghts., MI, 8 grandchildren, Stephanie Brown, Stacey Kautz, Scott Fleury, Christopher Jones, Thomas Fleury, Jillian Malheister, Jennifer and Jamie Potter, 6 great-grandchildren, Mackezie Brown, Molly Kautz, Austin Brown, Jake Fleury, Abigail Kautz and Addison Fleury. Also surviving are three brothers, Ronald of Millerburg, Charles of Fraser and Joseph of Houghton Lake. Gerald worked for 42 years starting in 1957, retiring in 2000. Visitation at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Warren, MI will begin Saturday, January 2, 2010 from 1-9 pm. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin Sunday, January 3, 2010 from 3-9 pm with a Scripture Service and Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, January 4, 2010 at St. Helen Catholic Church at 11:00 am with viewing prior from 10:00 am until time of Mass. Fr. Anthony Cureton and Sr. Barbara Matievich will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ogemaw County Humane Society.
