Gerald “Jerry” Frank Wolf, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at West Branch Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born to William and Virginia Wolf on January 20, 1936 in Detroit. Jerry has lived in West Branch since 1996, formerly of Livonia, MI. On June 20, 1964 Jerry married Arlene Gill in Melvindale, MI. Jerry served as a Captain in the US Marine Corps. He was a Teacher and Superintendent for Melvindale Northern Allen Park School District, and when he retired to West Branch, Jerry was the Treasurer and Supervisor for Horton Township and a County Commissioner in Ogemaw County for many years. Jerry was a member of the VFW Post #3775 and the Kiwanis. He also enjoyed fishing, rollercoasters, and vacation with family.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Arlene Wolf of West Branch; children: Stacey (Larry) Jasinski of Clarkson, MI, Eric (Julie) Wolf of Pinckney, MI, and Alyson (Tony) Wood of West Branch; grandchildren: Alesha, L.J., Emily, Eric, John, Jason, Brent, Tilly, Dominic, Luke, Marco; and nieces: Autumn and Stephanie. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bill Wolf.
Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday January 17, 2015, Jerry will lie in state at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch starting at 9:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Mass at 10:00 a.m. Father Patrick Maher will officiate.
