Gerald James Downs

Gerald James Downs, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at MidMichigan Medical Center in West Branch. He was born on June 10, 1938 in Wayne, MI to Roy and Viola (Kittle) Downs. He married the love of his life Norma Crandall on November 23, 1957. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Gerald is survived by his son, Patrick Downs; daughter, Kelly Searfoss; sister, Myrtle (Bob) LaGraff; 5 grandchildren, Robert Carey, David Downs, Katrina (Robert Arntz) Searfoss, Jessica Downs and Jennifer Downs; 11 great grandchildren, Dylan Carey, Hannah, Dakota, Hailey, Barbara, Michael, Daniel, Jayda, Johny, Dylan and Adrianna; 2 step grandchildren, Maegan Covietz and Jacob Arntz; and 2 step great grandchildren, Zachary and Alice Covietz. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 62 years, Norma, and 12 siblings.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Edwards Township Cemetery. Mark White will officiate.
