Gerald F. Richardson

Gerald F. Richardson, age 80 of West Branch passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010 at his home. He had lived in West Branch since 1979, formerly of Perrysville, OH. Gerald served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW #3775 of West Branch. He retired from Chrysler Corp. after 31 years of service. Gerald was named Ogemaw County Veteran of the year in 2009. He enjoyed golfing and helping his fellow veterans in the VFW. Gerald is survived by his sister, Margie Waymaster of Hancock, his dear friend, Martha Cohoon of West Branch and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Pauline Richardson and his brothers Carl and Eddie Richardson. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 2-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Rev. Dan Stoneback will officiate with burial following at Ogemaw Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the VFW Post #3775 or to Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch.
