Gerald A. Johnson

Gerald A. Johnson, age 76, passed away at his home Thursday, March 28, 2013. Gerald was born in Detroit to George and Dorothy (Allen) Johnson. He had lived in St. Helen since 1989, formerly of Clio. Gerald was a member of Lake St. Helen Baptist Church, he was a volunteer for Hospice of Helping Hands in West Branch and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Gerald is survived by his daughters, Susan Smagacz of Sterling Heights and Brenda (Michael) Soyring of Magnolia TX, his grandchildren, Shayla, Emily, Ryan, Ashley, Aric and Jared, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara in 2012, his son Allen Johnson in 2012 and his parents. Visitation at Lake St. Helen Baptist Church in St. Helen will begin on Monday, April 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Roger Green will officiate. A luncheon will follow at Lake St. Helen Baptist Church. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
