George W. Cowles

George W. Cowles, age 80, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2006 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. George was a lifetime member of the Faternal Order of the Eagles in Lapeer, West Branch, and Secord. He is also a member of the West Branch Moose Lodge. George enjoyed working on machines, motors, going fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling. George is survived by wife Donna of West Branch, son Edwin (Judy) Cowles of Traverse City, son Otis (Ruth) Cowles of Rose City, son Leonard (Louise) Cowles of North Branch, daughter Michele (John) Hart of Higgins Lake, daughter Trudy (Tracy) Summer of Elsie, MI, step daughter Patricia Carter of Flint, step daughter Doreen (Daniel) Schliter of West Branch, step daughter Paula (Curt) Schaiberger of St. Helen, step son Steven (Joe Coffey) Persondek of Circleville, Ohio, sister Arlene Hitter of Mayville. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Preceding George in death are wives Bettie Goudie and Joan Cowles.
