George Roger Ide

George Roger Ide, age 95, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 in West Branch, MI. He had lived in West Branch for the past 20 years, formerly of Berkley, MI. George was born to Herman and Bessie (Roger) Ide in Highland, MI on March 6, 1920. He was a member at the Church of Christ in West Branch and the West Branch VFW Post where he served as a Treasurer. George was in the National Guard and was later deployed in the Army during World War II and was a router for the army supply lines. He was a football star at Milford High School, and enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.

George is survived by his wife, Brooksie Ide of West Branch, MI; children, Mark (Missy) Ide of Apollo Beach, FL, Barbara (Calvin) Marshall of Lupton, MI, and Linda (David) Rhodes of Big Lake, AK; grandchildren, Kevin Ide, Michael Ide, Kris (Dawn) Marshall, Klint (Marie) Marshall, Jennifer (Jesse) Tanner, Jinette DeBuck, and Jacob DeBuck; great grandchildren, Lyddia, Elia, Calvin, Taylee, Ava, Cruz, and Carolyn. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Bessie, and brother, Emerson.

A Memorial Luncheon was held at The Brook in West Branch, MI on December 7, 2015.
