George Prusik, age 90, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018 at The Lighthouse in Roscommon, MI. He had lived in St. Helen since 1995, formerly of Port Sanilac, MI. George was born on April 8, 1927 in Detroit, MI to John and Eleanor (Kurczewski) Prusik. On September 1, 1951 he married Mary Lou Schommer. He served in the Army during World War II. George was a member of the St. Helen Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the VFW in St. Helen. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. He was a member of the NRA and was an avid gun collector.
George is survived by his children, Greg (Marianne) Prusik of Hessel, MI, Julie (Bill) Schafer of Duvall, WA, Paula (Dennis) Pack of Shelton, WA, Grace Prusik of Lakeland, FL, Joe (Janet) Prusik of Port Huron, MI and John Prusik of St. Helen, MI; grandchildren, Will, Andrew, Vicki, Mary, Ashley, and Joshua; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Vicki Knight of St. Clair Shores, MI. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Lou in October 2017 and great granddaughter, Cadence Melby.
Cremation has taken place and interment of ashes will be at Fairview Cemetery in St. Helen, MI.
