George Henry Trout

George Henry Trout, age 84, of St. Helen, formerly of West Branch, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018. George was born on May 5, 1934 to the late Henry and Lucinda (Burt) Trout. He was the youngest of five children. He grew up on his parent’s farm and knew what hard work was. As a carpenter most of his life, he did some wonderful work.

George enjoyed fishing, hunting, and garage saleing. He loved going to South Carolina to see his children down there. He loved the mountains.

On June 27, 1953 he married Virginia June Kozlow. They had eight children. George and Virginia had forty one wonderful years together. Virginia passed away on July 12, 1994. This was just after their 41st Anniversary.

George met Sandra Russell, and they had twenty three years together. They married in December of 2016. Sandra survives him and also her families.

George is also survived by children, Kathryn (Randy) Miller of Central Lake, MI, William Trout of Pickens, SC, Michael (Betty) Trout of West Branch, Deborah Tennat of Belton, SC, Barbara (Keith) Hiott of Belton, SC, Rebecca (Charles) Holliday of Anderson, SC, Douglas (Patty) Trout of West Branch, and Mary Elizabeth (Jeff) Delmotte of West Branch; grandchildren, Jason (Carrie), Ginny (Andy), Tony (Shena), Rachel, Jake, Chris, Mellissa, Roseanne, Kayla, Dakota, Allison (Ramon), Libby, Justin (Taylor), Nathan (Amber), Nicole, Madison and Elizabeth; great grandchildren, Zack, Logan, Lexie, Talon, Gavin, Grant, Abby, Davin, Isabella, Jason, Warren, Brody, Sadie, Kelly, Cameron, Naveh, Aubree, Abbie, and Isaiah; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. George is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; parents, Henry and Lucinda (Burt) Trout; siblings and in laws, Russell (Joyce) Trout, Dorothy (Daniel) Paris, Irene (Dick) Zettle, Gen (Dave) Siefert; and great grandson, Liam Hiott.

George will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. He as a great husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

We would also like to thank Hospice, homecare staff and all of the staff at The Lighthouse in Roscommon.

Rest in peace dad, we love and miss you very much.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Roger Green will officiate.
