George Daniel Mcgraw Jr.

George Daniel McGraw Jr., age 69, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at his home in West Branch, MI with his family by his side. He had lived in West Branch since 1997, formerly of Clio, MI. George was born on March 16, 1949 in Flint, MI to George and Lena (Switzer) McGraw. He was a United States Marine, serving during the Vietnam War from 1967-1971. George was employed with AC Spark Plug Delphi. He married Karen Reiber in Flint on May 29, 1981. He supported the Ogemaw County Humane Society, St. Jude’s Children Hospital, Veterans and many other organizations. George enjoyed reading, animals, hiking, camping, cartoons, sci-fi, movies, and video games.

George is survived by his loving wife, Karen McGraw of West Branch; daughters, Michele (Brady) Bodnar of West Branch and Connie (Kris) Doud of Bay City; son, Douglas (Anna) Lipsky of Kittredge, CO; grandchildren, Bo (Carrie) Bodnar, Jacob (Bonnie) Bodnar, Taylar Kosecki, Harlee Kilgore, Grace Doud, Lukas Lipsky, Alina Lipsky, and Landon Lipsky; great granddaughter, Alora Bondar; sister, Linda McCleland of Flushing; brothers, Mike (Cheryl) McGraw of Athens, AL and Matt (Rebecca) McGraw of Flint; and lots of nieces, nephews and family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary McGraw.

A memorial service will be held at the Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church in West Branch on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Pastor David Kurtz will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Ogemaw County Humane Society.
