George B. McCallum, age 81 of St. Helen, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2006 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. He had been a resident of St. Helen since 1986, formerly of Fowlerville and Windsor, Ontario. He was a member the Iron Workers, Local #25, the Moose Lodge #887, the Michigan Sheriffs Association, the Eagles Club of West Branch and the Snow Packers of St. Helen. He enjoyed hunting and gardening and he was proud of the fact that he had become a U.S. citizen on September 19, 2005. Mr. McCallum is survived by his son, Richard (Victoria) McCallum Sr. of Fowlerville, grandsons, Richard McCallum Jr. and Robert (Connie) McCallum both of Fowlerville and George (Trisha) McCallum II of Byron, great-grandchildren, Kristin, Justin, Cody, Trevor, Collin, Bailey and Callie. Also surviving is his sister, Marguerite Filby and Patricia Hubert both of Windsor, Ontario and his special friends, Lottie Bosbous of St. Helen and Charlene Trout of West Branch. He is preceded in death by his wife Anna, 2 brothers Clarke and William, 2 sisters Clara Jean and Gladys, and a brother-in-law George. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Robert Bissot will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Roscommon Animal Shelter.
