George Andrew Romancky

March 16, 1925 — March 31, 2004

Mr. Romancky, age 79, passed away at the Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan. He was born in St. Helen, Michigan to Joseph and Mary (Lemish) Romancky. George served in the Army as a Tech Sergeant at the end of World War II in Japan. On June 5, 1954, he married Wanda Starkey from Wayne, Michigan. Early in life he started the first Ready Mix business in Northern Michigan along with his two brothers. After inheriting the family farm, along with cattle farming, he became a pulpwood producer. He enjoyed hunting, playing a fiddle and old time country music. He is survived by his wife Wanda and three daughters Karen (Fred) Berg of Auburn, MI, Lucille (Dale) Eisbrenner of Roscommon, MI and Marcell Romancky of St. Helen. He is also survived by his grandchildren Klaus, Andrea, Ethon Eisbrenner, Frederick Berg, II and Danielle Berg. Also surviving are his sisters Mary Mason, Ellen MacKay, June Massey, Ruth Myers and his brother Albert along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John, Joseph, Pete, Robert and sisters Dorothy Haynes and Ann Collins. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will be on Friday, April 2, 2004 from 2-9 P.M. The funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday April 3, 2004, 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home in West Branch. Fr. Robert Bissot will officiate with burial following at Maple Valley Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Parkinsons Association.
