Genevieve Theresa Foor

Ernest C. Foor (91) and Genevieve T. Foor (87), of Lupton, MI, formerly of Bay County, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in a tragic house fire. They had been married for 68 years. Ernest was born on January 22, 1926 in Bay County to Alva and Jane (Heath) Foor. Genevieve was born on November 9, 1929 in Bay County to Rame and Veronica (Jajo) DuBay. Ernest and Genevieve enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family. They also both loved their little dog, Patty, who perished with them in the fire.

Ernest served in WWII and was a lifelong member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars. He loved to deer hunt and went to “deer camp” every year. Ernest was a retiree from General Motors. He was a great father and hero. Genevieve enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and working on crosswords.

Ernest and Genevieve are survived by their children, Marvin (Toni) Foor of Prescott, MI, Deb (Jay) Walterhouse of Davison, MI, Charlene (Frank) Detman of Davison, MI, Terry (Linda) Foor of Colorado Springs, CO, and Sandi (Dave) Hall of Burton, MI; 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Ernest is also survived by 4 sisters and 2 brothers and Genevieve is also survived by 7 sisters and 4 brothers. Ernest is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sister, and 4 brothers. Genevieve is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
