Gary Nelson Koch

Gary Nelson Koch, age 76, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at his home in West Branch, MI. He was born on October 23, 1945 in Bay City, MI to Nelson and Selma (Zissler) Koch.

He lived in West Branch for the past 10 years formerly of Gagetown, MI. On July 27, 1968 he married Diane Grew in Bay City.

Gary served in the United States Army during Vietnam received a purple heart. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and feeding all of the wildlife. He also enjoyed woodworking and built his home in Gagetown. Gary was very handy with his woodworking skills. Over the years he made beautiful furniture for his family.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Diane Koch of West Branch; sons, David (Lori) Koch of Clearwater, FL and Dale Koch of West Branch; grandchildren, Kyle Koch of Sterling, MI, Keegan Koch of FL, and Karagen Koch of Saginaw, MI; sisters-in-law, Judy Ruegsegger of AK, Pat (John) Kerkaw of Reese, MI, and Michelle (Dan) Yagiela of Bay City; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Bonnie Volz, and brothers-in-law Ron Grew and Don Grew.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held.
