Gary E. Mcdonald

Gary Eugene McDonald, age 73, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014. He was born on August 24, 1941 in Ann Arbor, MI to Gerald and Eugenie McDonald. Gary married Ann Marie (Globke) on July 20, 1963 and made their home in West Branch, MI.

Gary was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corp after an injury. He worked for Franklin’s concrete and was an oil field driller. He was a West Branch City Police Officer for 10 years before buying and running Mac’s Place Restaurant for 19 years. After retirement, Gary continued to stay busy driving trucks, building and working with son and team on race cars, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Ann Marie McDonald; son, Gerald (Tina) McDonald of Midland; grandchildren: Kayla Marie, Kimberly Sue, James Gerald, Rebecca Jean, and Erica Rae; sisters: Ann (Daniel) Kaffka of California and Carolyn Sue Tolbert of West Branch; and brother, Charles McDonald of St. Helen. He is preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Eugenie, and his sister-in-law Dorothy McDonald.

Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, MI will begin on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 1:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 11:00am. Elder Richard Hamilton will officiate.
