Gary David Roach

Gary David Roach, age 73, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at MidMichigan Medical Center Midland. He was born on September 19, 1946 in Columbus, IN to Charles and Dorothy (Ware) Roach. Gary lived in St. Helen since 2017, formerly of Southgate. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. On September 20, 2005, he married Mary Korbal in TN. Gary retired from General Motors after 24 years of employment as a machine operator and supervisor and also worked for 17 years at Mercury Manufacturing. He was a member of the American Legion #416 of St. Helen and enjoyed being in the woods, hunting, fishing and working on his race car. Gary especially treasured his time with his family.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Mary Roach of St. Helen; children, Douglas Roach of Romulus, Kim Scurto of Allen Park, Barbara (Gerald) Hardy of Wayne, William (Lynn) Nightingale of Sterling Heights, Denise (Robert) Reiber of Trenton and Michael (Melanie) Nightingale of Blissville; 20 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; mother, Dorothy Roach of St. Helen; and sister, Karen (Donald) Ellis of Clayton. He is preceded in death by his father.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place.
