Gary Allen Reilly, age 71, of Rose City passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020.
Gary was born on October 2, 1948 in Bay City, MI to Allen Reilly and Rosafern “Rosie” Fetters. He lived in the Rose City-Lupton area for most of his life. Gary was married on November 3, 1967 in Lupton to Marianne (Bohley) Reilly. He worked for K.J. Chadwick trucking for 10 years, owned and operated Gary’s Excavating and Marianne’s Hometown Laundry. He served in the Vietnam War in the Army division, was injured in active duty and honorably discharged with a purple heart. He enjoyed hunting, farming, playing cards, as well as spending time with family and friends.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Marianne Reilly; children, Mark (Vicki) Reilly and Wendi (Ken) Paulson; grandchildren, Whitney Reilly, Grant Paulson, and Garrett Paulson; great grandson, Kade Simmons; sisters, Pam Katt and Linda Madol; brothers, Lester (Patti) Fetters, Bob (Sharon) Fetters and Wayne (Shannon) Fetters; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Walter “Ted” and Anna Reilly; sister, Pat Jewell; and granddaughter, Tanya Reilly.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 from 1-4 p.m. at the Rose Township Hall in Lupton, MI. A Military Honors ceremony will be held 1:00 p.m.
