Garfield Jon Sutherlund

Garfield Jon Sutherlund, age 70 of West Branch, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019 at his home. Garfield was born on September 14, 1948 to Ernest and Ruth Sutherlund in Midland, MI. Garfield lived in West Branch for over 40 years, formerly of Midland, MI. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in West Branch since 1968 and was an avid cribbage player.

Garfield is survived by son, Michael J. (Trena Winans) Sutherlund of Auburn, MI, grandchildren; Alexis, Emma, Bryon, Casey, Lauren, and Tyler. Also surviving are sisters; DeAnna (Gerald) Steele of Redondo Beach, CA, Cathy Sutherlund of Chino Hills, CA and special friend, Maria Mikulewicz of West Branch, MI. He is preceded in death by parents and sister, Jean Temple.

Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday June 26, 2019 from 3-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Deacon Glen Painter will officiate. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in West Branch, MI.

Luncheon to follow burial at the West Branch Moose Lodge 2051, 1731 State Rd, West Branch, MI 48661.
