Floyd "Charlie" Ellsworth, 78, of St. Helen, died Saturday November 3, 2007 at his home after an extended illness. He was born on April 7, 1929 in Rives Junction, Michigan to Orrie and Irene (Ward) Ellsworth. Charlie married Caroline M. Walters on August 29, 1953 in Lansing. He was a member of the American Legion Post 416 St. Helen and a past member of the St. Helen Chamber of Commerce.Charlie and Caroline owned and operated "Charlies' Place" in Maple Valley Area for many years. Charlie was a "jack of all trades" and loved to help other people. He could fix anything and loved to hunt. Among the survivors is his wife Caroline of St. Helen; children Gail (Mike) Dilley of St. Helen, Annette (Thomas) Doeling of Alger, and Edward (Marie) Ellsworth of Grass Lake. Also 5 grandchildren Cassandra, Jeremy, Stephan, Doug, and Greg and 3 great-grandchildren, Devin, Angelene, and Abby. There is one sister, Linda (Rick) French of Tenn. and a brother, Milton (Judy)Ellsworth of Florida. There will be visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home, St. Helen on Tuesday from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at which time the funeral service will be held. Officiating will be Ordained Deacon Barry Brown, Burial is at Fairview Cemetery, St. Helen. Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands.
