Everett "Leon" Sentell

December 30, 1933 — August 20, 2012

Everett “Leon” Sentell passed away on August 20, 2012 at home surrounded by his loved ones after a brief illness. He was born December 30, 1933 in Alcoa, TN to Zell and Bessie (Anderson) Sentell. Leon is survived by his sons Daniel (Ellen) Sentell, Douglas (Christine)Kregear, Russell (Isabel) Harris, daughters Jodi (Brian) Davison, and Cynthia (Stuart) Fowler. He is also survived by his brother Leslie Heaton, and sister Virginia Miles. He has 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren whom he adored. Leon was preceded in death by his wife Judy Sentell, brother Robert Sentell, and sister Joyce Seeds. Leon and Judy owned Gage Well Drilling for many years and sponsored a softball team and enjoyed supporting and cheering them on. Leon and Judy wintered in St. James City, FL and summered in St. Helen, MI. He and Judy loved traveling, fishing, golfing, and going to the flea markets. Leon attended St. Helen Community Baptist Church in St. Helen, and was a member of the American Legion Post #416, the Eagles and Moose Lodges of West Branch. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin on Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 5-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the St. Helen Community Baptist Church in St. Helen. Visitation at the church will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Pastor Ken Peterson will officiate with burial following at Fairview Cemetery, St. Helen. We would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their wonderful love and support. Memorial Contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice. Arrangements are being handled by Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Homes, St. Helen.
