Eugene Arthur Burgeson Sr.

Eugene Arthur Burgeson Sr., age 72, of West Branch, MI, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. He was born on July 17, 1951, in Bay City, MI to Joseph and Mary Lou (Buechler) Burgeson. He lived in West Branch for the past 52 years, formerly of Bay City.

Eugene, who was also known as Gene, was a friendly and sociable individual who enjoyed talking to people. He valued his coffee groups and always had stories to keep them entertained. He wasn’t happy unless he was on the go!

Gene had a successful career as a mechanic at the Ogemaw County Road Commission. He was a member of the Eagles in West Branch, MI. In his free time, Gene had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He enjoyed working, hunting, tinkering in the garage, his family (especially his grandson), and spending time outdoors. He also had a passion for race cars and enjoyed the excitement of the sport.

Gene will be deeply missed by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Robin (Kline) Burgeson, his son Timothy Burgeson, his daughter Michelle Burgeson, his son-in-law Michael Graf, his grandson Isaiah Burgeson, as well as his brother, three sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, and his sons Eugene Burgeson Jr. and Chad Burgeson.

A memorial service to honor Gene's life will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Harvey Fry will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the Foundation for Women's Cancer.
