Ethel May Thiemke, age 65, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at MidMichigan Medical Center in West Branch, MI. She lived in West Branch since 2017, formerly from Skidway Lake.

Ethel was born on December 12, 1955 in Sandusky, MI to Almas and Myrtle (Jewell) Caughel. On June 11, 1977 she married James Thiemke in Brown City, MI.

She was a member of the Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church and enjoyed crocheting, reading, gospel music and collecting Santa Claus memorabilia.

Ethel is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, James Thiemke of West Branch; son, James (Hope) Thiemke of Bay City; daughters, Tami (Paul) Evans of Mackinaw City, Barbara Thiemke of West Branch, and Sandra (Michael) Rabadue of West Branch; grandchildren, Cassie (Austin) Smith, Cindel Thiemke, Dominic Thiemke, Paige Pickett, Jonathan and Andrew Litfin, and Serenity Evans; sister, Joyce (Curly) Werth of MN; brother, Robert Lee (Becky) Caughel of IN; and brother-in-law, Terry Eide of Yale.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Harvey Caughel, sister, Mary Eide, and sister-in-law, Mary Johnson.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church in West Branch.
