Esther Leone Sutherland, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City, MI. She was born to Ivan and Ezma (Woodworth) Sweet in Novi, MI on December 21, 1937.
On December 26, 1955, Esther married James “J.C.” Sutherland in Lake Orion, MI.
She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino.
Esther is survived by her children, Jim (Diana), Todd (Kim), Sherrie, and daughter in law, Sue; grandchildren, Deanna (Paul), Danyel, Andrew (Mark), April (Jaycen), Bryan, Jimmy (Stacie), Melissa, Jake (Autumn), and Dave (Taylor); 8 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Esther is also survived by her brother Jim (Linda) Sweet.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, J.C., sons Dan and Rich, and brother Lloyd Sweet.
