Ernest Stephan Kecskes

Ernest Stephan Kecskes, of St. Helen, Michigan, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025. 

He was born in Detroit on June 30, 1942 to Ernest J. and Millie P. (nee Nummer) Kecskes (Bodwen). He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Blossom (nee Adams), her son Michael Gionet, as well as his sisters Carol (Hank) Memhet and Betty (Ron) Spear.  

Growing up in East Detroit, Ernie lettered in basketball and afterward played on a community team. While living in St. Clair Shores, he was fond of fishing on Lake St. Clair. After retiring to St. Helen, he enjoyed the shooting sports and perfecting his pool game with close friends. He liked to tell tales of his time in the Army. 

Ernie is survived by his son Jonathon Kecskes, of Farmington, by Blossom’s daughter Jen (Matt) Bezanson, and grandchildren Nathaniel, Brian, and Dawn (Erik). 

Interment of ashes will be in Fairview Cemetery in St. Helen, MI, Richfield Township.
