Erma Jean Sandlin, age 84, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017 at her home in West Branch, MI. She had lived in West Branch since 1991, formerly of Ypsilanti, MI. Erma was born on November 27, 1932 in Hazard, KY to Bud and Lora (Maggard) Martin. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Ypsilanti and enjoyed shopping, traveling and birdwatching.
Erma is survived by her children, Jody (Susan) Sandlin of Houston, TX, Steve (Donna) Sandlin of Clarksville, AR, Janice (Charles) McDermott of Ypsilanti, MI, Mark Sandlin of West Branch, MI and James (Julie Campbell) Sandlin of West Branch, MI; 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; sister, Genevieve Stewart of Hazard, KY; and brother, Barron “Stubie” Martin of Lexington, KY. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl Sandlin, daughter, Lora Jean Sandlin, and grandson, Jason J. Sandlin.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Douglas Stockwell will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Brookside Cemetery in West Branch.
