Elva Fae Nelson, age 94, was called home to be with Jesus April 28, 2023. Elva was born in Prescott Michigan on May 6, 1928, to Edward and Elva Hall. Elva has lived in the Prescott and West Branch communities all her life.
Elva married the love of her life, Magnus Nelson in 1955. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and a treasured friend to all she met. Her love for Jesus was evident in her every action, word, and deed. She was a faithful member of the Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church where she and Magnus served in various ministries. She was also a member of Pioneer Power.
Elva loved to play board games, quilt, sew, and enjoyed a variety of crafts.
She was proceeded in death by all of her 14 siblings, and all her Nelson brothers and sisters in-laws who loved her as a sister.
Elva is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Ella and Ed Hart, and her beloved grandson, Matthew Hart. Who all dedicated themselves to her care and comfort the past several years.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Harvey Fry will officiate. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch.
