Elizabeth M. Gaubatz, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at The Villa at West Branch. She had lived in West Branch since 1971. Betty was born to Louis and Victoria (Drause) Przybylski on July 7, 1928 in Detroit, MI. She was a member at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society, and Caring Pregnancy Center. Betty had retired from Roscommon, Ogemaw, Arenac, and Wayne County Judicial Court where she worked as a court reporter for over 30 years. She also worked retail sales at Liz Claiborne and enjoyed shopping, gardening, and dining out.
Betty is survived by her son, David (Connie) Kowalski of Walled Lake, MI; step daughter, Linda (James) Olsafsky of Plymouth, MI; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; siblings, Adele (Joe) Prechel, Gerald (Delores) Przybylski, and Theresa Vesich. She is preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Doug Alcock and Donald Gaubatz.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Monday, August 24, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be a Rosary at 3:30 p.m. and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. On Tuesday, August 25, 2015, Betty will Lie in State at St. Joseph Catholic Church beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Mass at 12:00 p.m. Father Patrick Maher will officiate.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul, Caring Pregnancy Center, and St. Joseph Catholic School.
