Elizabeth Ann Schmitt

Elizabeth Ann Schmitt, age 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at The Villa at West Branch. She was born on May 24, 1929, in Ely, MN to John and Lempi (Norha) Schweiger. She lived in West Branch, MI since 2013 formerly of Charles City, IA.

Elizabeth lived most of her life in Charles City and raised her seven children. She was a homemaker and caring for her children was her top priority. She was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking and family gatherings. She had a great sense of humor, loved her M & M’s candy, redneck jokes, and going to garage sales.

Elizabeth is survived by her children, Connie (Dean) Schaaf of West Branch, MI, Mike (Linda) Schmitt of Broomfield, CO, Tom (Tracy) Schmitt of Gladwin, MI, Peggy Schmitt of Minneapolis, MN, and John (Rachelle) Schmitt of Farmington, MN; 15 grandchildren, 3 grand sons-in-law, and 7 great grandchildren; and sons-in-law Jim Hart of Farmington, MN and Darren Turgeon of Townsend, MT.

She is preceded in death by her parents and daughters, Ruth Hart and Laurie Turgeon.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
