Edward V. Greenland

Edward V. Greenland, age 81, of West Branch, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, August 13, 2007 at Bortz Health Care in West Branch. Mr. Greenland and his family lived in West Branch since 1966. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the University of Detroit Alumni Association where he graduated from with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He retired as a General Manager from Sempco Inc. after 37 years of dedicated service. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946. Ed is survived by his wife Betsy C. “Sue” Greenland of West Branch, children; Robert A. Greenland of Beulah, James C. (Brenda) Greenland of Jackson, Jean E. Greenland of Harrison Twp. and Anne M. (Darrell) Osborn of Erie, PA; grandchildren, Cristy, Shelby, Ashlen, Breanna, Eric and Courtney. Also surviving are his brothers, Frank (Mary Jane) Greenland of Cleveland, OH and James (Loretta) Greenland of Karthaus, PA, Matt (Janice) Greenland of Clearfield, PA, and his sisters, Lucille Kephart of Bradenton, FL, Patricia (John) Geppart of Rockway, NJ and Madonna Greenland of Cresson, PA. He was preceded in death by his sons; Edward G.,John J. and Paul M., his sisters, Joan Greenland and Rosemary Greenland and his parents. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Bortz Health Care staff and friends for the caring attention and friendship shown to Ed during his stay. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. and a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at St.Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch. The body will lie in state at church beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Fr. Robert Bissot will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to Bortz Health Care for the residents.
