Edsel B. Brewer

Edsel B. Brewer age 86 of Sterling, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at St. Mary’s of Michigan Standish Hospital. Mr. Brewer had lived in Sterling for the past 15 years, formerly of Chesaning. He retired from Farm Bureau Services after 37 years and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch. He was also a member of the K of C in both West Branch and Chesaning and a Rotary Club member in Chesaning. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and playing cards. Edsel is survived by his wife Marion Brewer of West Branch, children; Suzanne (Tim) Benton of East Lansing, Patricia Harris of Chesaning, Betty (Raymond) Daniels of Sterling and Michael (Renee) Brewer of Edgewater, FL. grandchildren; Jenniffer, Theresa, Sarah, Bryan, Dirk, Reed, Mark, Shannon and Mallory. Also surviving is his sister Mary Jane (Art) Nagy of Sterling, his son-in-law Rob Shepherd of Harrisville and his sister-in-law Doris Brewer. He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Theresa (Winter) Brewer, daughter Linda Shepherd and his brother Benjamin Brewer. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 2-9 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service beginning at 6:30 p.m. On Friday, Edsel will lie in state at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life at 12:00 p.m. Fr. Patrick Maher will officiate. Memorial Contribution can be made to the family of Edsel Brewer.
