Edith Stone, age 106 of Lupton, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Tawas Village in East Tawas. Mrs. Stone had lived in Lupton since 1932, formerly of Saginaw. She formerly owned the Cedar Bar in Lupton for 34 years and the Stone Store at the corner of Forest Drive and Shady Shores Road in Lupton. Mrs. Stone is survived by her children Ray Stone and Don (Ella) Stone both of Lupton and Jerry Stone of Hale, 3 grandchildren Larry (Sandy) Stone of Bay City, Lisa (Kirk) Auernhamer of Omer and Mark (Kristin) Stone of Berkley, 4 great-grandchildren Crystal Stone, Carl Beckman LCPL, Michael Auernhamer and Ryan Auernhamer, 1 great-great grandchild Summer Stone and her sister Dorothy Marks of Houghton Lake. She was preceded in death by her husband Ward Stone, her grandson Nathan Stone, her brother John Burnell and her sisters, Alice Burba and Ione Manalis. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 3-7 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Pastor Dan Stoneback will officiate. Burial will take place at Brookside Cemetery, West Branch.
