Louise (Doyle) Dornton, age 91, died Sunday, June 15, 2014 in Redford, MI. She was born on October 1, 1922 in Richmond, Virginia to Munsey and Ethel Doyle. She attended Fordson High, graduated from Dearborn High in 1940. Louise was an active member of Lupton Friends Church being involved in any way she could especially with the children’s ministries. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and caring for many people. She also enjoyed reading, learning, writing and playing cards. You could always find Louise volunteering with several community organizations. Louise is survived by her daughters: Judy Nesler of Brighton, MI, Gayle (Ira) Slaven of Taylor, MI, Kathy (Joe) Shnowski of Destrehan, LA, and Sandy (Mike) Marxer of Livonia, MI; sisters: Diane Dronse of Southgate, MI and Anne Kraft of St. Augustine, FL; Brother, Larry (Jodi) Doyle of Peyton, CO; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Ken Dornton as well as her second husband, Carl Dornton, and grandchildren: Matthew, Megan, and Todd. Visitation will begin Monday, June 23, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Lupton Friends Church until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Lane Heights Cemetery. Pastor Mel Killinger will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements were handled by Steuernol and McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City, MI.
