Duane Russell Kammer, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at MidMichigan Medical Center in West Branch. He lived in Rose City for the past 30 years, formerly of Warren, MI.
Duane was born on June 19, 1932 in Detroit, MI to Russell and Norma (Daus) Kammer.
He married Judith Boldenow in East Detroit on April 15, 1992.
Duane graduated from Denby High School in Detroit. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked for different tool and die shops in the Detroit area before becoming a journeyman. He eventually went to work for Chrysler and retired after working for over 30 years. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing and spending time with his family.
Duane is survived by his loving wife, Judith Kammer of Rose City; children, Keith (Quida) Kammer of Austin, TX, Kevin (Kathy) Kammer of Bloomington, IN, Kirk (Lisa) Kammer of Washington, MI, Kammy (Curtis) Vandenbussche of Sterling Heights, MI, Jennifer (Jamie) Hughey of Quincy, MI, and Brian Hughey of Eastpointe, MI; sister-in-law, Maggie Kammer of Madison Heights, MI; 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ronald and sister Delores Luetzow.
Cremation has taken place and interment of his ashes will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI with full veteran honors.
