Douglas Michael Dougherty

Douglas Michael Dougherty, age 35, Amanda Nicole Pomeroy, age 32, and Jacob Douglas Dougherty, age 8 months, passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2021 in Rose City, MI. The family lived in Bay City for the past year and a half, formerly of the Ogemaw County area.

Douglas was born on October 31, 1985 in West Branch, MI to Michael and Shirley (Jorgensen) Dougherty. He attended Ogemaw Heights High School and enjoyed camping, fishing and loved his children. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Dougherty of West Branch; parents, Michael and Shirley Dougherty of Houghton Lake; siblings, Lisa (Shane) Norton of West Branch, Charlie Raifsnider of Washington, and Kimberly (Ronald McQuiston) Dougherty of West Branch; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He is preceded in death by his son, Jacob and significant other, Amanda Pomeroy.

Amanda was born on December 14, 1988 in Detroit, MI to Michelle Pomeroy. She attended Ogemaw Heights High School and graduated in 2003. Amanda was a waitress at Big Boy and Ponderosa and worked at Brian’s Fruit and Meat Market. She enjoyed camping, being a mother and raising her two children. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Dougherty of West Branch; uncle, Thomas Holton of Rose City; and great aunt, Renee (Mike Martinez) Lockhart of Rose City. She is preceded in death by her son, Jacob, mother, grandparents and significant other, Douglas Dougherty.

Jacob Douglas Dougherty was born on May 21, 2020 in Bay City, MI to Douglas Dougherty and Amanda Pomeroy. He was a happy and joyful baby. He is survived by his sister, Michelle Dougherty of West Branch; grandparents, Michael and Shirley Dougherty of Houghton Lake; aunts and uncles, Lisa (Shane) Norton of West Branch, Charlie Raifsnider of Washington, Kimberly (Ronald McQuiston) Dougherty of West Branch, and Thomas Holton of Rose City; great great aunt, Renee (Mike Martine) Lockhart of Rose City; and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandma Michelle Pomeroy and great grandparents.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, MI on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Visitation will be held with precautions, due to the current pandemic, limiting the number of attendees at a given time.
