Douglas Allan Marlow, affectionately known as Doug, was born on June 5, 1958, in Mason, MI to Richard and Esther (Waggoner) Marlow. He lived a life characterized by passion, love, and adventure until he peacefully departed this world on Friday, November 22, 2024, at his home in Rose City, MI at the age of 66. Doug lived in Rose City for the past 22 years, formerly of Hale, MI.
On February 29, 1991, he married Linda Grove in Tawas, MI.
Doug dedicated a significant part of his career to his true calling— as a motorcycle mechanic. His love for motorcycles was evident not only in his profession but also in how he embraced life with the same spirit that inspired so many. Whether it was through the roar of an engine or the quiet hum of a canoe gliding across still waters, Doug found joy in every ride and every moment spent outside. His interests extended to camping, fishing, and hunting, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and share unforgettable experiences with those he loved.
In addition to his adventures and career, Doug proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1977 to 1985. His commitment to service continued as he became a member of the American Legion in Hale, MI, where he forged lasting friendships and upheld the values he cherished.
Doug's greatest pride and joy came from his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Linda Marlow, his sons, Douglas and Joel, and stepdaughter Amanda. His legacy extends through his father, Richard Marlow, and his cherished sisters, Jolynn, Tammy, Pamela, Kay, and Theresa. Doug was blessed with the joy of 10 grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who held a special place in his life.
He was predeceased by his mother, Esther.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
Doug's memory lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a man who exemplified kindness, resilience, and a zest for life. His spirit will forever remain a source of inspiration, reminding us all to live fully and embrace the adventures that come our way. As we say goodbye to a remarkable husband, father, and friend, we carry forward the lessons of love and joy he taught us so well.
