Dorothy M. Thompson, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at The Villa at West Branch with her family by her side. She was born on August 18, 1923 in Prescott to Benjamin and Emma (Drow) Harmon. She lived in West Branch since 1946, formerly of Prescott. Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for kindergarten. She enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, being outdoors, camping, yardwork and cooking.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Daryl (Chris) Thompson of Morley, Dean (Judy) Thompson of Gladwin and Dana (Sue) Thompson of West Branch; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Joyce) Harmon of Holland; brother in law, Robert (Kris) Thompson of Whittemore; sister in law, Marion Harmon; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; daughter, Darlene Dawn; sisters, Helen, Esther, and Ruth; and brother, George.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in West Branch on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Tim Dibble will officiate. Burial will follow at Richland Cemetery in Prescott.
