Dorothy L. Muzik, age 89, passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 at Bortz Health Care of Rose city. Dorothy had lived in West Branch for most of her life. She was a member of the Churchill United Methodist Church. Dorothy was a “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II and also a telephone operator. Dorothy loved cooking and baking for family and friends, her flower gardens, and the Detroit Tigers. Dorothy is survived by her children, Bill (Wanda) Muzik of West Branch, Jean (Mel) Minkin of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Linda (Ron) Oldenburg of Aurora, Colorado, her grandchildren, Mike, Peggy, Dionne, Amy, Tony, Todd and Wendy, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter, sister-in-law, Lucy Sabo and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John and her brothers, Russell (Esther) Jackson, Clare (Marjorie) Jackson and sisters, Leora (Louie) Bedtelyon and Marie (Joe) Hennigar. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Monday, September 13, 2010 from 2-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the funeral home. Rev. Ron Cook and Rev. Dan Stoneback will officiate. Burial will follow at Selkirk Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Churchill United Methodist Church.
