Dorothy Frances Huger

March 8, 1938 — February 5, 2020

Dorothy Huger, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 in Traverse City, MI. She was born in Wayne, MI on March 8, 1938 to Alonzo and Dorothy Kleabir. Dorothy lived in Houghton Lake for 8 years. Amongst her countless triumphs, Dot coached bowling for many years, maintained active memberships with the Eastern Star, Eagles Club, and American Legion, and traveled extensively. But, perhaps, her greatest accomplishment was simply being there……at sporting events, family picnics, birthday parties, holidays; and when she couldn’t, it was cards with little notes to melt your heart. She was a little crazy, A LOT stubborn, but had a WHOLE LOTTA LOVE for her family. We were lucky to know her, and we will never forget her.

She is survived by her husband Bob, three sons, Donald (Beth), Dean (Wendy), and Darryl (Linda), 4 step-children, Debbie (Tim), Rick (Cheryl), Robert, and John, many grandchildren, and many more great-grandchildren; along with beloved family members too numerous to count. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Kyle.

A family gathering will take place at LJ’s Kilkare in Houghton Lake, MI on Sunday, February 9, 2020 beginning at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to www.woundedwarriorproject.org

Arrangements were handled by Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen. Online condolences can be shared at www.steuernolmclaren.com
