Doris Helen Dishaw

Helen passed away Monday evening, January 11, 2015 at Bortz Health Care in Rose City, MI. Age 76 years, the daughter of the late Thomas T. and Willie Belle (Easley) Kelly was born on July 24, 1938 in Arlington, TN. Helen’s family moved to Sebewaing, Michigan and then on to Bay City where she lived for many years. Later, Helen and her husband Moe moved to West Branch, Michigan to live out their retirement years. Helen was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She loved to cook for everyone, ceramics, and planting vegetable gardens each year and perch fishing.

She is survived by two sons: Kelly (Laurie) Dishaw and Christopher (Tricia) Dishaw; four grandchildren: Kerry (Stephanie) Dishaw, and C.J., BreeAnna and Hunter Dishaw; and great grandchildren: Taylor and John Dishaw; and one sister: Barbara (Michael) Pawlaczyk; and several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her dog, her loving and constant companion, Cleo.

On February 2, 1972 she married her best friend and soul mate Moses X. Dishaw and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2004. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and sisters-in-law, James (Pauline) Kelly, and Thomas (Margaret) Kelly.
