Donna B. Cowles

Donna B. Cowles, age 66 of West Branch, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. She had lived in West Branch since 1971, formerly of Flint. She graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1960 and retired from the Michigan Employment Security Commission after 20 years of service. Donna was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Loyal Order of the Moose, both of West Branch. She enjoyed crocheting, camping and fishing. Donna is survived by her children, Patricia Carter of Mt. Morris, Doreen (Daniel) Schliter and Paula (Curt) Schaiberger both of West Branch, and Steven (Joseph) Persondek of West Mansfield, OH, grandchildren, Krystal, Jacob, Ricky, Andrew, Courtney, Jackie, Kayla and Ayden and great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jayden. Also surviving is her mother, Vera Carter and her sister, Carol Ann Harrod both of Goodrich and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Cowles, her father, Warren Ross Carter and her brothers, Robert Charles and Warren Ross Carter. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 from 3-9 p.m. with an Eagles Service at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Rev. Dan Stoneback will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch.
