Donald Max Henry Sr., age 80, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 in Alger, MI. Donald has lived in Alger since 1994, formerly of Sterling Heights, MI. He was born to Henry and Anna (Morris) Henry Jr. on April 3, 1933 in Capac, MI. Donald married Joyce Szczepanski on January 21, 1956 in Warren, MI and just celebrated 58 years of marriage. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge in Prescott, MI, the American Legion in Skidway Lake, and the Eagles in Secord Lake. Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, tipping a few with buddies, traveling, casinos, woodworking and spending time with his family. Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce of Alger, MI; children: Michelle Moxley of Shelby Twp., MI, Donald Henry Jr. of Sterling Heights, MI, Gary Henry of Alger, MI, Laureen Leston of Scottsdale, AZ, Jim (Sharon) Henry of Yale, MI; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; siblings: Barbara Geiger, Robert Henry, and Kathy (Robert) Krueger. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law: Rita Henry; and brother-in-law: Herbert Geiger. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will be Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 1-9 p.m. There will be a Rosary at 6 p.m. and at 6:30 p.m. the Moose Lodge will provide an evening service. On Friday, Donald will lie in state at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Skidway Lake beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Military Honors. Father Larry Boks will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to the family.
