Donald L. Welch

Donald Lee Welch, age 58, of St. Helen, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Midland. Mr. Welch was born August 24, 1949 in Flint. He attended Holy Redeemer and South Western High Schools in Flint. He worked at Fisher Body and Buick City in Flint, retiring from GM on October 1, 1999. Mr. Welch was involved in the community and was a member of the Birch Point Property Owners. He enjoyed motorcycles and fishing. Donald is survived by his sons; Todd (Tracey) Welch of Oregon and Corkey Welch of St. Helen, three grandchildren; Dante, Rahzi and Zachary Lewis, his mother, Ruth Welch of Flint, his brothers, Charles (Margie) Welch of Swartz Creek, Timothy Welch and Jeffery Welch both of Flint, his sister, Denise Welch of Flint, his sister in law, Karen Welch of the Upper Peninsula, his friend, Rod Stimpson, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Lewis, his father S.F. Welch and a brother, Keith Welch. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin on Friday, August 31, 2007 from 4-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
