Donald D. Sullivan, 41, of South Lyon, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 30, 2011, from injuries sustained as a result of a snowmobile accident on Clear Lake. Donald was a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Engineering and a graduate of the University of Detroit School of Law. He practiced law in New Mexico and in Michigan where, most recently, he was employed at Skupin & Lucas Law Firm, Detroit. He was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed golfing, hunting, boating, and snowmobiling. More than anything, he loved his two daughters. Donald is survived by his daughters, Mariah Destiny Sullivan and Makayla Christina Sullivan, both of South Lyon; the mother of his daughters, Crystal Shuttleworth, of South Lyon; and his parents, Donald and Shirley Sullivan of West Branch. Also surviving are his sisters, Corinne (Nelson) Williams of Saline, Cathy (Tom) Wierzbicki of Redmond, WA and Tina Kitts-Broderick of Detroit, and his brothers, James (Sandra) Kitts of Flushing, and Jon Paul (Sally) Kitts of Norfolk, VA. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Dr. Donita B. Sullivan. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 2-9 p.m. The Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch. Fr. Patrick Maher will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, West Branch. Memorial Contributions may be made to the family for the benefit of his children.
