Donald C. Dunn

Donald C. Dunn, age 88, of Alger, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008 peacefully at his home with loving family by his side. Donnie lived in Alger all of his life with his beloved wife of 65 years. He loved fishing, deer hunting, traveling and was an avid sportsman. Donnie attended Edwards Community Church, he served in the US Army during WWII, and was owner/operator of Dunn's Excavating and Trucking. Donnie is survived by wife, Gerry of Alger, daughter, Judy (Larry) Winter of Alger, daughter, Bonnie (Randy) Hector of Traverse City, son, Dick (Linda) Dunn of West Branch, brother, Leonard Dunn of West Branch, sister, Doris Poling of Amanda, Ohio, and special cousin, Howard McCauley of West Branch. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jeff(Sarah) Winter, Steve (Kristi) Winter, Jason (Mackenzie) Dunn, Ryan Dunn, Brent Dunn, Niklas (Erynn) Hector, Nathan D. Hector, and great grandchildren, Tom Nesbitt, Aspen Winter, Brandon, Easton, and Morgan Winter, Reegan Dunn and Nathan R. Hector. He is preceded in death by parents, Cecil and Maggie Dunn, brother, Karl Dunn, and grandson, Charles L. Terry. Special thanks to Heartland Hospice and Hospice of Helping Hands for there loving care. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin Monday, July 14, 2008 from 2-9 PM, Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home.
