Donald A. Hilgendorf

April 1, 1937 — July 7, 2004

Donald Aaron Hilgendorf, age 67 of Prescott (formerly of Brown City) passed away July 7, 2004 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Aaron and Irene Hilgendorf of Clinton Township. He attended St. John's Lutheran School in Fraser. He was employed as a millwright at the New Haven Foundry for 10 years, then to Chrysler Sterling Stamping Plant, where he retired in 1996 after 30 years of employment. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brown City, the Order and Free and Accepted Masons, Lodge 409 in Brown City and the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 199 of Brown City. He enjoyed spending his time riding his golf cart around Hardwood Lake, helping and visiting with his friends and neighbors. He will be dearly missed by his family and his many friends. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cyrilla (nee DePauw), his children, Steve (Cheryl) of Brown City, Tom (Barb) of Brown City, Linda (Rick) Paul of Kenosha WI, Teresa (Rob) Kandell of Port Huron, and Don (Maria) of Marlette, his grandchildren, Chip (Charlie) Rowe, Jamie Hilgendorf, Andy Hilgendorf, Dirk Schwarman, Emily Hilgendorf, T.J. Hilgendorf, and Matthew Hilgendorf. Also surviving him are his siblings, Ronald (Gloria) of Macomb Township, Richard (Gail) of Sterling Heights, Sharon (John) Adcock of Clinton Township, Herm (Margie) of Berlin, Aaron of Prescott, numerous nieces and nephews, and Jim, Terry and Lois. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bob (Joyce) of Roscommon. Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will be assisting the family, and, respecting the wishes of the deceased, there will be no funeral service. In honor of his love for 4 loyal pets Ruby, Louie, Mike and Sadie, in leiu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ogemaw County Humane Society.
